The club's chairman Dr Jack Bendat confirmed on Friday morning the four-time Wildcats championship-winning coach would continue his reign for another three seasons.
"I'm very pleased to announce that we have re-signed our four-time championship-winning head coach, Trevor Gleeson, for the next three seasons," Bendat said in the statement.
"Trevor is the best in the business, and that was never more evident than this season where he shut out the outside noise, fought through injuries, inspired resilience in the group and guided our team to another monumental victory."
Gleeson said he was confident he was on track to securing the contract extension after the club delayed negations until the end of the season.
"One thing that's great with Jack and the board is once they say something they back it up with actions," he said.
"They don't go flipping and flopping all over the place. That gives you confidence. They said we'll deal with it once the season is done. You take them at that and you trust them."
The new contract will see the 49-year-old father of two become the longest serving coach in the club's history.
"He (Gleeson) will coach the Perth Wildcats until at least the end of the 2021/22 season, meaning he will have been at the helm for nine seasons," Bendat said.
"Trevor joined us in 2013 and won a championship in his first season. He went on to lead the team to championships in 2016, 2017 and now 2019.
"He's been to the Finals every year, and has an impressive post-season record of 18 wins from 26 games. His record speaks for itself and I am personally thrilled to be continuing our journey with Trevor Gleeson."
The Wildcats mentor will now focus his attention on re-signing his championship players.
Bryce Cotton, Nick Kay, Mitch Norton, Angus Brandt and Rhys Vague all have deals but the rest of the squad are out of contract.
