Agents yarded well under average numbers, due to the significant price correction last week.
Not all weights and grades were offered, with the bulk of the yarding being the regular offering of dairy cows, with a few excellent heavy beef cows amongst them.
All regular processors were present, however, no feedlot buyers showed due to the lack of suitable types on offer.
Prices were slightly stronger across most categories.
The few vealers offered sold from 250c to 260c, with a nice pen of black steers returning to the paddock for 250c/kg.
Only one single trade heifer was sold, making 190c/kg, with the bulk of the yearlings returning to the paddock receiving from 138c to 140c/kg.
A few good grown heifers were penned today, topping at 198c/kg.
The best of the beef and dairy cows sold in stronger market, with heaviest beef cows going to the processors from 190c to 215c/kg.
The well covered dairy bred cows made up the bulk of the yarding, with the D2 and D3 portion receiving from 122c and 178c, while the very light 1 score cows made from 53c to 115c/kg.
Only five bulls were sold this week, with the better beef types lifting 2c, going to the usual buying group from 196c to 236c.
The plainer dairy portion offered sold from 132c to 135c/kg.

UPCOMING SALES AT CAMPERDOWN
Tuesday, March 26:
Weekly cattle (9am)
Bobby calf sales (11am)
WOOL WEEKLY
For week ending March 15.
The EMI lost a further 29 cents for the week to 1,979 c/kg clean.
The supply of best style lots with high strength and low midbreaks continues to reduce each week. These lots attracted keen competition this week which maintained their value to within 20 cents of last week's level.
However, the increasing supply of low yielding drought affected wools weighed heavily on the market at all three selling centres.
Prices eased across all Micron Price Guides (MPGs) on both Sydney sale days. A large selection of lots < 18.5 µm lost up to 35 cents on Wednesday. Low yielding lots with low strength and high midbreaks attracted further discounts.
Thursday's sale saw prices across all MPGs ease further, particularly the good and average style lots which dominated the selection.
Merino skirtings lost up to 60 cents for the week with the poorer style wools most affected. Crossbred lots lost 40 cents with oddments having mixed results for the week. The Northern Market Indicator finished 31 cents lower at 2,027 c/kg clean with the Northern Merino Carding Indicator gaining 1 cent to 1,238 c/kg clean. The Sydney pass-in rate was 10.2%
The Melbourne sale started slowly on Wednesday but steadied as the day progressed. A large offering of poorer style lots with low yields lost ground, while the limited selection of best style lots achieved prices close to last week's level.
Thursday's offering was dominated by lots with poorer style and unfavourable additional measurements. This produced further losses across all MPGs.
Merino skirtings also lost ground, especially those lots with > 5 % VM. Crossbred lots lost between 7 and 24 cents with only small week-on-week changes in oddment prices. The Southern Market Indicator lost 27 cents to close at 1,949 c/kg clean. The Southern Merino Carding Indicator lost 8 cents to 1,184 c/kg clean. The Melbourne pass-in rate was 13.5%.
The Fremantle market also lost ground. Finer lots < 19.5 µm were the most affected on Wednesday. Better style lots lost between 15 to 25 cents with poorer style, lower yielding lots up to 50 cents cheaper. Further losses occurred on Thursday as low yielding lots dominated the offering. The discounts applied to these lower style lots drove the market lower.
Merino skirtings with < 3% VM were unchanged from last week, with lesser style lots carrying higher VM between 40 to 60 cents lower. Oddment lots finished the week up to 80 cents lower than last week. The Western Market Indicator ended the week at 2,127 c/kg clean down 30 cents with the Western Merino Carding Indicator losing 45 cents to 1,184 c/kg clean. The Fremantle pass-in rate was 13.5%
