Yarding: 670. Change: 259.
With so many cattle available to processors everywhere at the moment, prices have come back a fair bit and this was reflected here.
The usual field of buyers operated on the mainly poor to plain quality offering of dairy bred cattle that was dominated by the larger cow penning.
The few beef bred yearlings remained unchanged in price, but the few light weight vealers offered sold close to 100c/kg lower.
D2 grown heifers made 30c less than their dearer prices of last week and cows were 25c to 35c cheaper, with the few beef cows up to 60c/kg lower.
Heavy weight bulls eased 25c/kg in the increased sized yarding of 670 head that saw 27 bulls, 509 cows, 78 heifers and 56 steers offered.
The few C muscled vealers sold from 138c to 160c, with yearlings making from 180c to 250c/kg.
The D muscled yearlings received from 116c to 174c, with very poor 1 scores making from 48c/kg. The three average quality C3 grown steers sold for 200c, while the D1 steers made from 150c to 165c/kg.
The single C4 grown heifers sold for 210c, while the D2 grade made from 134c to 150c/kg.
The 3 and 4 score beef cows made from 130c to 165c, with the D2 grade making from 115c to 156c/kg.
The D1 cows received from 100c to 140c and most E1 cows made from 80c to 112c, as very poor conditioned lots made from 40c/kg.
The 3 heavy weight B2 beef bulls sold from 195c to 220c, with D2 bulls receiving from 110c to 160c/kg.

EYCI REPORT
We’ve hit autumn and cattle producers who were holding out have hit the button.
Cattle supply has ramped up, as a dry summer and the spectre of a dry autumn sees the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator heading back toward 400¢.
For the first time since late 2014, you could buy restocker steers in NSW for just a smidgen above 200¢.
This used to be a good price, but that was back in the noughties.
It’s the first time in three years that cow prices have been below 150¢/kg lwt.
If we compared to restocker steers, it’s still not a bad price.
But compared to the beef they become, the 90CL frozen cow indicator, which sits at 644¢/kg cwt, cows are very cheap.
Slaughter rates appear to have strengthened again and are afflicting cattle markets.
Heavy slaughter cattle prices started easing in line with young cattle and cows.
Heavy steers lost 50¢ on average this week and the national indicator broke through key support to hit 443¢/kg cwt.
