Being part of the Port Fairy Rotary Club
I really enjoy the social aspect of being part of Rotary. It's a good way to catch up with people, the club meets each week so you do form some good friendships.
The best part about Rotary is you are getting to do things to help your community while having a good time.
Community involvement in the Bandari Project
I have been involved in the Bandari Project for four years now.
It has been a wonderful project and something Rotary has been a great supporter of.
Over the four years we have built a school with seven classrooms, a toilet block, two shades houses to grow vegetables, a fish farm and chook houses.
The aim is to hep the community become sustainable in the long-term, I hope we will achieve that by 2020.
Helping the Port Fairy Cricket Club
I am very proud to be a life member of the club. I played my last season when I was 60, as a fill-in.
I didn't play in the grand final as I stood aside for a player from a higher grade to come back and play.
He made 70 and we won the grand final, so I consider I had some hand in those very important runs (laughs).
I just love being around the club, working alongside Wally Sheehan and Bob Dwyer, we have a lot of fun.
Snorkelling and diving
I love getting out into the ocean.
I have always enjoyed snorkelling and diving. It is so good to take people out with me and be able to show them the ocean and the wonderful things in it.
I took my grandchildren out on the weekend and it was amazing, they loved it. It is one of the best things about Port Fairy.
