A club aimed at social interaction, Probus in Koroit is also helping members learn more about their local community.
Each month, the Koroit Probus Club has a guest speaker attend one of its meetings.
The latest guest speaker was Worn Gundidj tourism manager Terry O'Keefe.
Mr O'Keefe spoke about the workings of Tower Hill and its importance to the Koroit community.
In March, a member of the Koroit Irish Festival will speak to members about plans for the April event.
Last year, guest speakers included stroke specialist Patrick Groot, a representative from the Bethany Group and Commander Paul Naylor from Victoria Police.
Koroit Probus Club guest speaker coordinator Helen Sheppard said members enjoyed hearing from local organisations.
"The guest speakers are always entertaining and informative and our members really enjoy their presentations," Mrs Sheppard.
"We try and have a wide variety of subjects covered and we are always looking for interesting people to come and talk to us."
The club also has regular day trips during the year, as well as a three-four day getaway annually.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Koroit Senior Citizens Clubrooms.
The Koroit Probus Club has been in operation since 2004, and Mrs Sheppard said members were keen for others to join them.
"Probus clubs provide the opportunity for those who have retired or are semi-retired to meet," she said.
"This is without pressure and with minimum cost, in circumstances which provide new interests and new friends."
She said the concept of Probus means the club meetings are autonomous and simple in structure.
She said the club was more about social interaction and does not fund raise.
