A 22-year-old Warrnambool man police wanted to speak to in relation to a string of thefts has been arrested and remanded in custody.

Warrnambool police Sergeant David McDonald said a number of thefts had been committed in the Gateway Plaza area, including EB Games and at the Dan Murphy's store.
Police had issued a whereabouts alert for the man.
He was arrested late Tuesday night, interviewed, charged and remanded in custody overnight to appear in court for a bail/remand hearing.
