Brown, the son of Warrnambool Mermaids coach Louise, is one of five players returning for the tournament held from April 13-20 in Townsville.
The 14-year-old was part of the Victorian side which claimed the state’s first Kevin Coombs Cup last April.
New Victorian coach Ben Hodgens said Jaylen would receive close attention from the opposition as an experienced member of the nine-player squad.
“Teisha Shadwell and Jaylen Brown will draw plenty of attention as they return to the team, as both have continued to improve since the 2018 tournament,” the first-year coach said.
We have a good mix of experienced and developing players in this year’s team, so they’ll be able to give other teams a really good run.”
