Thomas edged out Sebastian Christie-Crane to win the three-round Shipwreck Coast Series’ final leg at Port Campbell on Sunday.
The result followed her overall victory, where she also pipped Christie-Crane, in Warrnambool in January.
“I have never won overall before and I was pretty stoked last week (in Warrnambool) and I was a bit nervous today, there was a bit more pressure but I was stoked to do it again,” Thomas said after completing the Twelve Apostles Plunge.
The Warrnambool-based Thomas, who missed the opening leg in Port Fairy, said she enjoyed testing herself against her Warrnambool Swimming Club clubmates.
“I think it’s always good having people that you train with and it’s good to still work together,” she said.
“I sort of washed road off Seb a bit in the Warrnambool swim and he did the same thing with me today.”
Christie-Crane, who is based in Hamilton, was happy to battle it out with Thomas in the 1.2-kilometre swim.
“I think I was a bit closer this time which I am happy about but she still got me,” Christie-Crane said.
Thomas said the Port Campbell course, which is in the stunning cliff-bound bay, was always tricky.
“It was pretty good going out but I found when we turned to come in that I couldn’t really see where I was going,” she said.
“It was a bit tough coming in, there was a bit of swell but it was a nice swim really compared to what we’ve had before.”
