But Warrnambool Darts Association are counting themselves lucky as it prepares for its third visit from Australian professional darts player Kyle Anderson.
The current world 23, whose nickname is “The Original” on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit, will play a host of Warrnambool darts players and enthusiasts at Walter Oval’s club rooms on Thursday from 7.30pm.
WDA spokesperson Leigh Giblin said the visit from the 31-year-old Perth export was a bonus for the sport in the region.
“We have been really fortunate to be able to get him down to visit us here a few times,” he said. “Having him here is a good way to promote the sport and really get people involved.
“He is so welcoming to everyone and it often feels like you have made a new friend after he leaves.
“It does create a lot of interest when he first arrives and when he leaves. We have already sold tickets to people from as far Hamilton, Portland and Colac.”
Fourteen lucky players from the south-west will get the chance to face Anderson, who has been playing darts since he was six-years old, on Thursday night.
Two ladies and two men’s players secured their chance to play the indigenous darts star through high results in the club’s season, while another four played off on Monday night and the last two will be decided by a raffle.
Tickets will be on sale at the door from 7pm with opportunities for photos and autographs after the night concludes.
