Local trainer Norm McCullagh will have Crimson Vixen running in the Warrnambool Summer Sizzle final at Wannon Park.
The race will be the feature event of the Warrnambool Greyhounds Seaside Festival, which began on December 27.
The winner of the Warrnambool Summer Sizzle final will take home $25,000.
Crimson Vixen made the final thanks to a second placing in the sizzle heats last Saturday.
While McCullagh brings plenty of experience to the race, 26-year-old Lara trainer Jai Willoughby is at the other end of the scale.
Willoughby will have his dog She’s a Mitzi in the race.
She’s a Mitzi ran a close second in her heat and Willoughby told Greyhound Racing Victoria he is excited about her chances.
“She’s in the race, so she has a chance,” Willoughby said.
“Although, she’s up against some good dogs, so it’ll be pretty hard.
“This is the biggest race so far, but we’re just taking it one step at a time and trying not to get too carried away. As long as she’s performing, that’s the main thing.”
