Going into the Twenty20 games, Purnim did not have a win to its name.
But that changed with a victory over Woolsthorpe in the shortest format.
Purnim opening bowler Greg Bull said the win was a welcome result.
“You never knock back a win and we were also competitive in the other Twenty20 game we lost so it was a good weekend for us,” Bull said.
“It has been a disappointing season win wise.
“We got touched up by Mailors Flat in round two but we have been competitive in the other games without winning.
“There have been periods in each game where we have either conceded 0-100 with the ball in a hurry or lost a clump of wickets and that has cost us.
“Our aim for the rest of the season is to land a win.”
Purnim will play Grassmere today at Purnim Recreation Reserve. The day will feature the official opening of the new verandah at the ground at 2.30pm.
