A week after The Jurassic Creatures exhibition opened at Lake Pertobe, organisers are delighted with the response.
Jurassic Creatures manager Jan Rodriguez said people were coming from as far as Mount Gambier and Bendigo to see more than 30 animatronic dinosaurs.
“We’re getting people back two and three times,” she said.
It’s the exhibition’s first time in regional Victoria and includes an interactive fossil digging area, dinosaur-themed jumping castles and dinosaur movie screen.
Warrnambool City Council’s manager of visitor economy David McMahon said he wanted to bring something fresh, new and world class to Warrnambool and it had been a success so far.
“It’s a really important element of our summer campaign,” he said.
He said the visitor centre had noted more people making day trips to the city than in previous years.
