Dunn said 260 players had committed to the five-day competition, which starts at Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday, December 27.
The annual competition features under 12 to under 16 grades as well as open men’s and women’s Australian Money Tournament events.
“At the moment we have 260 players and a few will drip in every now and then (until the opening day),” Dunn said.
“There’s heaps in the AMT open men’s – there’s 82 players in that.”
South-west pair Harry Boyd and Josh Parsons will feature in the men’s AMT section, with Eloise Swarbrick, Greta Dabizzi, Alice Tanner and Danielle Warren the region’s open women’s chances.
Dunn said both grades featured talented players.
“One name that sticks out is Aaron Leeder-Chard,” he said.
“He’s from Melbourne way and is a former top-100 Australian player and plays premier league for Royal South Yarra, which is like the VFL equivilent in tennis.
“In the women’s, Eloise is a pretty good chance and another lady, Mary Ann Liu, is from Melbourne and plays at the same level as Aaron.
“She’s a very good player to watch.
“Enzo Aguiard was runner-up in the under 16 nationals last week and he’s been coming to Warrnambool since he was about 10.
“He’s the second best 16-year-old in Australia.”
The tournament wraps up on New Year’s Eve.
