The popular Warrnambool children’s author said although he was glad his Hopkins Point address would soon have new owners, it would be bittersweet when he finally farewelled his home of 15 years.
The 52 acre property Mr Jennings describes as a “comfortable worn slipper” was sold last week in a unique ‘reverse sale’.
The brainchild of the author, his partner Maryanne Fahey, and Warrnambool Homeseeka real estate agent Paul Jellie, the sale began at $1.35 million and was scheduled to reduce by $50,000 each fortnight until sold.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home sold before the price was reduced in the unique sale process.
Mr Jellie said he was reluctant to reveal the selling price but added it was “sold at a mutually agreeable price in a sale format we’d be keen to try again if the property and circumstances were right”.
