“See ball, hit ball,” was Place’s reply when asked his thought produce at the crease.
“I am pretty aggressive I suppose, I like to score quickly if I can.”
Place has played a key role in Pomborneit’s strong start to the South West Cricket Association (SWC) Twenty20 competition.
Pomborneit has won all five of its Twenty20 games, including victories on Saturday against Noorat and Heytesbury Rebels.
Place helped build the momentum for a successful day, top scoring with 59 in the first game of the day against Noorat.
His aggressive mindset was on show, with his innings including three sixes.
Bar one season at Camperdown, Place has played all his cricket at Pomborneit.
The 30-year-old opening batsman was a member of back-to-back Pomborneit division one premiership teams in 2007-08 and 2008-09.
His half-century on Saturday was his third for the season and adds to an impressive career haul.
He has a highest score of 171 not out, which he made in the 2009-10 season.
