Davis moves into the role after John Ross made the call to stand down after one year in the top job.
Davis said Ross had stood aside due to personal reasons.
“The board has accepted John’s resignation and we respect his privacy,” Davis said.
“John did a wonderful job as president, his enthusiasm and communication with the clubs was a real strong point.
“He had a passion for interleague and was proud as punch when Hampden did so well this year.”
The Hampden league has announced it will hold its annual general meeting on February 4.
It was originally set for December 10 but was put back due to the league’s financial report not yet being completed.
Davis, who has been a board member for 16 years, steps up from her position as HFNL vice-president.
While she was looking forward to her historic reign, Davis said it could be short-lived.
“At this stage I don’t think I will be putting my hand up for president at the AGM,” she said.
“I’m actually contemplating retiring from the board, I’ll just see what happens between now and then.”
