With the date reading double-digits and the big day less than a fortnight away, little people are holding huge hopes for the annual day of wonder.
For those households who have welcomed an elf during the festive season The Standard is offering some reprieve.
Thanks to some clever south-west residents we’ve captured a collection of the region’s best and worst elves and their Christmas capers.
Celebrate or commiserate with other elf owners for the final two weeks.
Originating in America, the elf phenomenon was created from a picture book that explains how Santa Claus knows who is naughty and nice through elves visiting children all the way until Christmas Eve.
Each night the Elf on the Shelf gets up to mischief and children seek out his antics the next day.
During the lead-up to Christmas readers can share their pictures via The Standard’s Facebook page, tag @wboolstandard on Twitter or Instagram or email to rebecca.riddle@fairfaxmedia.com.au
