Detective Senior Constable Tim Chester, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said the clubrooms in Glenelg Street, just down from the Portland police station, was burgled overnight Wednesday.
He said offenders entered through a rear door and there was about $500 damage caused to internal doors.
"The offenders also attempted to take a television off the wall," he said.
"It's only a small club and the club members have been left disturbed by the break-in," he said.
