Warrnambool aged care provider Lyndoch Living will next month substantially expand its business and acquire Terang’s May Noonan Centre.

Lyndoch chief executive Doreen Power said Lyndoch was immediately interested when the Mecwacare organisation, which owns the May Noonan Centre, approached her earlier this year about buying the 40-bed residential care home.
Mecwacare is a not-for-profit organisation that runs a number of residential, nursing and support services throughout Victoria.
Ms Power said she was interested in buying the centre because it was local and had similar values to Lyndoch’s.
She said there would be no significant change in the services offered by the May Noonan Centre in the short term, but she would be talking to staff and residents about how Lyndoch could add more value to residents’ lives.
As part of the sale, both organisations have guaranteed residents at the centre will not need to leave their homes.
“We will not be changing their (the centre’s) name, as it represents a proud 40-year history in the town of Terang,” Ms Power said.
“I know their quality standards are good, so they will have a lot in common with the way we work with our staff and residents.
“This will be a win-win for everyone. The staff will enjoy improved pay and conditions with us, and will have new employment options open up, as we can now move staff and residents across both locations if desired.”
She said Lyndoch was open to acquiring new businesses but was only considering additions that were financially sound and fitted into Lyndoch’s vision.
