Warrnambool police Sergeant James van Engelen said the 26-year-old was arrested in Warrnambool on Friday night.
He said he was caught driving unlicensed.
The man was wanted for alleged thefts at Warrnambool’s Bunnings Warehouse on September 24 and Woolworths in Raglan Parade on November 6.
Sergeant Van Engelen said a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in court on four occasions.
He was placed in the Warrnambool police cells and will appear in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday charged with shop theft and driving-related offences.
