About 15 community members attended the session at the Warrnambool Golf Club on Wednesday evening to learn more about the project, which the Environment Protection Authority is considering for a works approval.
Residents raised concerns about odours, noise, air emissions/dust, location and truck and traffic movements.
Midfield and Warrnambool City Council representatives presented at the consultation session.
Merrivale Community Association secretary Joan Ward said the process had been “very open from the project’s inception”.
“Midfield have been open and above board taking on our questions and concerns,” she said.
“Some people still have concerns. This meeting gave them a great opportunity to raise those concerns in an open and confident manner.”
The independent facilitator will now submit a report to the EPA who will make a decision on the works approval application.
Following that the Warrnambool City Council will consider the planning permit for the project, if the EPA passes the works approval.
