HAMILTON Kangaroos are likely to accept their 2019 player points allocation after being pegged back to sit inline with their Hampden league rivals.
AFL Western District informed clubs of their indicitive points on Friday.
There are two review windows for clubs to apply for extra points.
The Kangaroos and Port Fairy, who had 43 and 42 points respectively in 2018, were given 40 each for next season.
Eight of their nine opponents – bar Koroit which was handed 37 due to its sustained success – were also given 40.
Roos chairman John Pepper said the club would put an application in “if we need it”.
“Last year we recruited quite a few people and we anticipated a lot of them would be one-point players because we brought a lot of people home,” he said.
“But we weren’t 100 per cent sure on different things, like if you were a leading goal-kicker or won a best and fairest whether you carried extra points so we applied for more points.
“But as it turned out, we didn’t really need them. Last year I think the highest amount we played with was 33.”
Port Fairy president Noel Black said the Seagulls “would take it onboard and review it, like we do every other year”.
