Police have urged tradesman to be cautious after a building site was targeted by thieves overnight.

Detective Senior Constable Wayne Ryan, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said unknown offenders forced entry into a Holbrook Street property between 7pm Tuesday and 8am Wednesday.
“Offenders have cut open a padlock and jemmied open the door of a property that is currently in lock up stage,” he said.
“They’ve stolen five power tools, including drills, a plane, power saw and nail gun, valued at roughly $3000.”
The victim’s wallet was also stolen.
Detective Senior Constable Ryan said it was a timely reminder for all tradesman to be vigilant.
“Even if building constructions are at lock up stage, it is not advisable to leave valuable power tools on site,” he said.
