CELEBRATION: Former Port Fairy Football Netball president Leo Bourke is looking forward to a big weekend. The footy club life member, who was also once the head trainer, is celebrating his 90th birthday at Mooloolaba in Queensland. The barflies said his four children were flying in from various parts of Australia with family and friends to celebrate Leo’s achievement with his wife Mavis. Sources anticipate the phone will be running hot with calls from friends in Port Fairy and Koroit.
WATCH OUT: A spate of break-ins to cars and houses in Port Fairy on Tuesday morning shows us that society has taken a turn for the worse. The biggest warning to all residents is to make sure you lock your cars and houses, whether it’s during the day or night.
COMMUNITY: After months of planning and preparation, the Port Fairy Show is on this Saturday. The show has grown in stature over the last 10 years and is a must-attend event on the social calendar for all members of the family. Gates open at 7.30am. The Koroit Show, which is held on November 10, is another great community event.
