Warrnambool RSL president John Miles is asking people to take the time to remember veterans of all wars, and purchase a poppy to help their ongoing support.
“All of the money collected stays in Warrnambool,” Mr Miles said.
The new Veterans Support Centre is bringing a surge of younger servicemen and women into the RSL, alongside the World War II and Vietnam veterans.
“We are very appreciative of any money coming in to help these people,” he said.
Poppy Appeal boxes will be located in 75 businesses and schools and sellers will be at various locations around Warrnambool.
“We have also added selling points at Flagstaff Hill and the Dennington shopping centre,” Mr Miles said.
Items range in price from $2 to $50 with traditional poppies available alongside key rings, bracelets and special hand crocheted blooms.
