Leadership group representatives Ailish Murfett, Tess Worrall, Matthew Gome and Xavier Gercovich handed over the money on Wednesday to the volunteers who are helping to rebuild farms and fences after the devastating St Patrick’s Day bushfires. Vice principal Jim Guinan said the leadership group decided to fund-raise for the worthy cause with the three activities. Mr Guinan said the students were impressed with the final total, and the generosity of the school community.
He said a BlazeAid volunteer commented that the money raised equated to about $5 per student at the school, which was the largest amount donated by a Victorian school. He said senior school unit coordinator Mark Gercovich helped the students with their fund-raising efforts.
