The English import has signed with Dennington for the 2018-19 Warrnambool and District association season.
Cheslin, a bowling all-rounder from Birmingham Premier league club Knowle and Dorridge, said he would not allow the expectations to hinder him.
"Extra pressure, expectations are never a bad thing, I want to try and do my best wherever I am playing no matter the standard,” he said.
"Coming out here being the only English lad at this club, there is a bit of pressure and expectation but hopefully I can live up to those.
"Obviously I want to come out here and enjoy myself and enjoy my time here and the country and the people.
"But my main priority to be here is to play cricket and to win, because I am a competitive person, and I want to take some wickets and score some runs and hopefully win a few games.”
The 30-year-old from Coventry, who took 26 wickets last season, said he had not placed any expectations on himself.
Though he said he was excited to play his first game for Dennington.
"I wouldn't say I have set myself any goals," he said.
"I am not sure what the standard is like, but I am told it is pretty similar to back home.
“So I want to get stuck in early and then set myself some targets and goals three or four games in when I've got my feet a little bit.
"At the moment I just want to get out there and see what it is like to start with.”
Cheslin said there was one thing he expected this season. And that was to be sledged.
He said he expected his opponents to treat him like the Australians treated the England players on the international stage.
"I would be disappointed if I didn't get any to be honest with you. Let's see what they've got," he said.
"I wouldn't say I was a big talker, I like to do most of my talking with the ball or the bat.
"But yeah if a few words get exchanged it is never a bad thing, it is good for a bit of entertainment."
