The popular bakery took out first place at the 29th Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition with its Eggs Benny Breakie Pie.
It also picked up a third place for itsFarmers Pie in the Breakie Pie category and a third place for best Poultry Pie.
The competition was part of the Fine Food Festival in Melbourne.
Owner and baker Brad Burkitt said the win was a great effort for a small bakery.
“We’re just a small bakery in the country competing with city bakeries with better technology,” he said.
“For us all the way up in the sticks to win is pretty good. It’s unreal to get first place.”
Mr Burkitt said his secret was to take his time with the pastry and use good quality ingredients.
He said since the business opened in August last year the bakery had received fantastic support from the community.
Mr Burkitt said thanks to a small twist of fate he was now back working with two bakers, Jason Strangwick and David Hickman, who he did his apprenticeship under in Timboon in 2012.
“It was bought by Chitticks and we all went our separate ways,” he said.
“They were both there when I started my apprenticeship and now they’re back working here with me.
“The team is back together again.”
