Deakin University will host the Access Education VCE Unit three and four exam revision lectures on campus on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The end-of-year revision lecture programs are subject specific and run for about 2.5 hours each.
Subjects to be covered in the sessions include English – section 3, literature, further maths, legal studies, biology, maths methods, business management, chemistry and health and human development.
Students studying psychology, physics, physical education, food studies, outdoor education and environmental studies will also be able to benefit from the revision sessions.
The classes are run by a team of highly experienced lecturers who are experts in their fields.
The classes include tips to better understand and tackle exam questions and pointers on previous pitfalls from last year's exams.
Participants will be given subject specific study notes prepared by their lecturer and general and subject specific exam strategies.
The Warrnambool sessions are one of 14 revision events to be held at universities across the state.
Deakin University manager community engagement Geraldine Moloney said last year was the first time they hosted the sessions which exceeded expectations.
More than 300 students are expected to attend each day, with some of those attending multiple classes.
“We’re still taking bookings,” Ms Moloney said. “We distributed a lot of free tickets to the schools in the region to assist those students who normally may not be have been able to afford to attend, to offset the cost.
“We think it’s a better way of creating some equality between regional and rural students and their city counterparts, bearing in mind we know that there’s a lower rate of tertiary education for regional students.
“We are trying to ease that barrier,” she said.
