Mrs Britnell continued criticism started by neighbouring opposition colleague Richard Riordan (Member for Polwarth) during the last question time of the 58th State Parliament.
Both attacked the State Government’s neglect of country Victoria.
Mrs Britnell’s parting comment was “Labor doesn’t give a stuff about the country”.
Earlier: A FIERY question time in State Parliament on Thursday has led to Member for Polwarth Richard Riordan being ejected after comment over bridge funding.
Premier Daniel Andrews responded to a question on his neglect of country Victoria, with the deputy Opposition leader Peter Walsh labelling the government leader the “Premier for Melbourne”.
Mr Riordan repeatedly called for the premier to justify his expenditure of Country Bridge funding money in the premier’s own electorate of Mulgrave.
Mr Riordan claimed it was revealed in budget documents that at least two bridges in the city electorate of Mulgrave, the premier’s own seat, had accessed funding specifically targeted for country roads.
“The blatant use of scarce funds for country roads on infrastructure in Melbourne is just a disgrace,” Mr Riordan said as he exited the chamber.
“When the premier himself is so blatant on the misuse of funds, then it’s no wonder he does not blink an eyelid at spending $1.2 billion not to build a road!”
