While Old Collegians year ended in heartache it showed it was still a premiership contender into the future.
Josh Reichman, who announced after the third consecutive grand final defeat he would be stepping down from his role as coach, led the Warriors back into the decider with a chance of causing an upset.
He also overcame the hoodoo with Kolora-Noorat as Old Collegians defeated the reigning premiers on four occasions this season, including two critical finals.
For the netballers, led by Meagan Forth and Jess Toleman, they returned to finals for the first time since the 2015 grand final.
The Warriors A grade side started the season strongly and kept up good form to finish fourth behind the powerhouses of Dennington, Nirranda and Timboon Demons.
Ultimately their season came to an end at the hands of the Demons in the first semi-final. But there was plenty to look forward to for Forth and Toleman.
