The Blues overcame a 0-5 start to earn an elimination final berth under first-year coach Matt O’Brien.
They bowed out to South Warrnambool but have already locked O’Brien in for next season and added Northern Territory Football League forward Darren Ewing to their list.
On a personal level, Darcy Graham’s productive season in the Blues’ midfield was rewarded with second place in the Maskell Medal count.
Warrnambool, under first-year coach Raewyn Poumako, had mixed results in the netball.
The Blues finished with seven wins and 11 losses.
Sarah O’Keefe was awarded the Blues’ open netball best and fairest.
