“We trained Thursday and Saturday and had a light session and team morale and bonding session over lunch on Saturday morning,” the playing coach said.
“We are a pretty tight-knit group with Lisa (Anders) being the oldest and then Soph (Adams) or Quicky (Jessica Quick) are the youngest and we all get along and are there for each other. I think that is something that replicates onto the court when we play.”
Townsend said the Blues’ training run on Thursday night was more about fine-tuning rather than managing bodies.
“We will try and keep off the legs as much as possible but it’s more about honing in on those little things we have been doing well,” she said. “We just want to make sure we continue to do those things right and bring it into Saturday.”
