Wannon Water is hoping to revitalise the concrete structures in Tarrington and west Warrnambool.
The Tarrington Progress Association and Wannon Water are hoping to secure funding through the state government’s Pick My Project initiative.
The program is offering $30 million to fund local projects through a public voting system.
The project will cost approximately $80,000 and aims to create a community hub celebrating the town’s German cultural heritage.
The tower will feature a three-dimensional public artwork/sculpture, a community garden and play area and interpretative signage detailing the district’s heritage.
Work has also begun on the west Warrnambool water supply tower located near Friendly Societies’ Park.
Plans for the tower’s facade will be released next month.
