The 2016 Caulfield Cup winner has not raced since winning the BMW Stakes by more than six lengths at Rosehill in March 2017.
Jameka suffered a bout of travel sickness on the way back to her Caulfield stable following the Sydney victory.
The decision to retire the mare was made after discussions between owner Colin McKenna and Maher following Jameka having a jump out at Cranbourne on Tuesday.
McKenna said Jameka had been a marvellous horse for her connections during her career.
“My wife Janice and I have decided to retire Jameka after talking to Ciaron,” he said.
“Jameka has lost her top gear. She’s raced in some of the feature races on the Australian racing calendar and been very successful.
“Ciaron said she was the best looking horse at the jump-outs but she had lost the zest to race at the top level. She’s got nothing left to prove on the racetrack so she’ll head to the breeding barn.”
From her 24 starts Jameka won six races and was in the minor placegetters stall on nine occasions.
She earnt more than $4.8million in stakemoney.
