The Standard’s CHRISTINE ANSORGE braved the rain, hail and wind to capture the action from the under 17.5 football and 17 and under netball.
In the under 17.5 Football Merrivale took on South Rovers.
The Tigers were able to come away with a 7.5 (47) to 3.4 (22) victory and set up a date with Old Collegians next weekend.
Flynn Gurry was Merrivale’s top scorer with two goals and Oliver Doukas was named best on ground.
Riley McConnell kicked two of South Rovers’ goals, while Jack Dowd was named as the Lions Best players.
The Tigers also featured in the 17 and under netball against Dennington.
But this time the Tigers were unclucky, falling three goals short of the Dogs in a 26-23 final score.
Dennington’s goals came from Zoe Fleming (15) and Georgia Daly (11), while Merrivale’s goals were scored by Jorja Graham (12) Eliza Ljubic (11)
Dennington’s best player was Katelyn Grant, while Merrivale’s Maddison Giblin was a standout for the Tigers.
