The mother of five was one of the draw cards at the 2018 South West Dairy Ladies’ Luncheon on Wednesday.
Ms O’Loughlin said she felt very comfortable in rural and regional towns given she’d been raised in a country town.
“Country people love hearing stories,” she said.
Fellow guest speaker and Commonwealth Games athlete Virginia Moloney told the more than 300 women gathered that women in the dairy industry played a very important role.
“When you’re working on a farm every day… you’re the psychologist, a nurse, a carer, a manager, a accountant (and) a agronomist,” she said.
WestVic Dairy’s chair Simone Renyard said it was vital women had a chance to have a break from the farm.
“There have been some tough times and it’s ok to look after yourself,” she said.
