Detective Sergeant Jason von Tunk, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said the vehicle was found destroyed on Saturday afternoon.
He said there had been no reports of stolen cars, the station wagon had no number plates and the VIN number had melted off.
Detective Sergeant von Tunk said the last two vehicles found burnt out in POrtland were paddock bombs.
One was found at Pivot Beach and other along the Madeira Packet Road.
Neither the Ford Falcon or Holden station wagon had been reported stolen.
The detective said deliberately setting fire to vehicles and discarding them was aggravated littering and anyone responsible could be liable to pay significant fines.
He requested anyone with information about the burnt out station wagon found at the weekend contact the Portland police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
