A Powercor spokeswoman said repairs on the damaged lines were expected to take about one-and-a-half hours, with power to be restored following the repairs.
Earlier 2pm Wednesday
Residents have been left in the dark again after damaged lines caused the fifth power outage in one month.
A Powercor spokeswoman said power had been turned off to 133 customers in Mepunga, Allansford and Naringal on Wednesday after crews located two damaged power lines in Naringal.
The faults were discovered after crews patrolled the local network to determine whether any further work needed to occur following an outage on Tuesday.
“A fault crew will attend the site today to undertake repairs to the damaged lines,” the spokeswoman said.
“We will keep customers updated on the estimated restoration time.”
The blackouts occurred just two weeks after customers experienced three outages in one week.
The spokeswoman said a reliability team had conducted further investigations into the series of outages and further maintenance work would be conducted later this month.
“We will notify customers of this work over coming days,” she said.
“Yesterday, we installed four fault indicator devices that will allow crews to quickly determine where a fault might have occurred which can speed up restoration times.
“We are working to improve the reliability in the area and apologise to customers for any inconvenience these outages are having.”
More to come.
