The Pulitzer prize-winning play Proof by David Auburn explores the fragility of genius and the nature of human relationships within families.
Originally written as a stage play, Proof was also made into a film, released in 2005, starring Anthony Hopkins and Gwenyth Paltrow and was nominated for a Golden Globe.
Company manager Michael Jewell said the tour of Proof was the first production in a larger project called 'Project 2020' - an initiative which sees the company tour two shows per year to Victorian towns, not usually visited by touring companies.
Mr Jewell said the objective of the show was to “contribute to the cultural and entertainment offerings of the town”. It’s on at the Port Fairy Lecture Hall on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are $39 adults and $35 concession. To book go to highway1theatre.org or eventbrite.com.au
