Brendan Craig Parsons, 29, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court and did not apply for bail.
A police brief service date was set for August 21 with a committal mention date of October 5.
Lawyer Louis Robertson said his client wanted to see a psychiatrist to address stresses he had been experiencing lately.
He said it was Mr Parsons’ first time in custody.
Magistrate Cynthia Toose said Mr Parsons had been charged with serious sex assault matters and remanded him in custody until October 5.
The charges include two counts of both rape and sexual penetration of a child.
Earlier: A WARRNAMBOOL 29-year-old man has been charged with 11 sex offences including rape of a child.
Warrnambool police Sergeant Cameron Ross said officers executed a search warrant at a Warrnambool address on Tuesday and the man was arrested.
He has been charged with 11 offences including rape and sexual penetration of a child.
The man has been remanded in custody overnight and will appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court today for bail/remand hearing.
