Police members from Terang and Camperdown will station themselves at the Terang Country Bakery this month to chat to community members over a cup of coffee.
Terang police Sergeant Danny Brown said the event would bring police officers and community members together to discuss issues and learn more about each other.
“I often find out about conversations that are being held and questions that are being asked behind closed doors and it makes me wonder why people don’t just come to the police first,” he said.
“This event will allow us to engage with community members in a relaxed environment. We will have members from every station and potentially someone from a specialty unit to answer any questions that the community may have.”
Coffee with a Cop will be held on Tuesday, July 24 between 10am and 12pm.
The Terang Country Bakery is located on 62 High St, Terang.
