The 17-year-old, who competes in the modern pentathalon and pony club, has received the prestigious Pierre de Coubertin Award from the Victorian Olympic Council.
Watt was presented with the award at a ceremony at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The Maribyrnong Sports Academy student said she was flattered.
"I was pretty proud of this award,” she said.
"There are hundreds of incredibly talented sports people (at school) and being the one student they picked to receive the award was an honour.”
Named after the founder of the Modern Olympic Games, the Pierre de Courertin award focuses on academic excellence and sporting prowess.
"I think awards that recognise contribution to the community, school and sportsmanship are much more valuable than awards for speed or skill,” Watt said.
"I think values an athlete displays and their attitude whether they win or lose is much more valuable than any gold medal.”
