Outside of the ring they are partners of five years.
And in December, they will hear wedding bells when they tie the knot at Warrnambool.
But on the weekend they heard bells of a different kind, which also marked a special occasion.
The soon-to-be newlyweds, for the first time in their six years of boxing together, recorded wins on the same day.
Barker said it was a special moment.
"We have fought on the same fight card a few times over the years, but hadn’t both got the win,” she said.
“So to finally happen was really exiting.”
Barker said her and Riddle, who are both coached by Coleraine’s Ray ‘Mocka’ McIntosh, work well together in training and in life.
Though she did jokingly reveal one part that is hard to take.
"Boxing takes a lot of commitment and at times sacrifices so it’s certainly a lot easier knowing the other person is going through the exact same thing,” she said.
"The best thing is that we train together everyday, otherwise we probably wouldn’t ever see each other.
"And the worst thing would be the fact I have to admit he can beat me."
For a lot of sporting couples the male would generally head to football training and the female to netball.
Not for this couple.
Most nights the pair travel to Coleraine to train at Mocka’s Boxing Club.
For some, having their fiance boxing with them or sparring other males would not be easy, but like most things, it doesn’t faze Riddle.
In fact, he said it has its advantages.
"The best thing about Katie being involved in the same sport is she loves the nutrition side of things,” he said.
“So we don’t have to worry about weight and all of that is done for me.
"We have trained together right from the start of our relationship so it’s just normal for us to train and spar each other.
"In the gym we just treat each other like anyone else in the gym.”
Though there was one question he was not sure how to answer, especially with Barker standing within arms reach.
“I would be lying if I said I was the boss,” he said
“Everyone in the gym lets Katie think she's the boss.”
One man who has watched their relationship blossom over the past six years is coach Ray ‘Mocka’ McIntosh.
After a few jokes about the pair’s relationship, he said it was “pretty special”.
"They are a couple of trouble makers,” he said.
“But they are a pretty good couple, put it that way.
"They gel together, they take their anger out on each other and you have a bit of a laugh and its a bit of fun.”
