The South West Wombats hosted the 16 teams with games also played at Harris Street Reserve.
South West Wombats captain and coach Dallas Jones said ultimate frisbee was a non contact team sport open to men and women.
The game combines elements of netball, touch football and grid-iron.
Mr Jones said the Wombats were made up of people from Portland, Ballarat and Warrnambool and because the game was self refereed sportsmanship was everything.
“The youngest out there is 16 and there’s a couple in their 40s,” he said.
“It’s seven on seven on the field and teams of up to about 20.
“It’s very agility based. It’s high intensity and high impact on the body.”
The South West Wombats meet every Monday night at 6.30pm at Brauer College’s indoor basketball court.
