Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Mortlake police Senior Constable Paul McLean said western Victoria had been hit by a cold snap in the past few days.
"It's been down to as low as -2 across the south-west in recent days and we urge all drivers to take extra care due to the danger posed by black ice on the roads," he said.
