Emma McKay, 24, of McGregors Road, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to careless driving and was placed on a 12-month bond.
Police said that McKay was teaching a 24-year-old to drive.
On August 31 last year McKay went to a childcare centre in north Warrnambool to get her daughter while she was teaching the learner driver.
She got her daughter and stood her at the back of the car while the learner driver attempted to reverse park.
McKay told police she was teaching a learner driver and wanted that person to understand how small young children were in comparison to a car.
She said she had bipolar, was not thinking straight and never wanted to put her daughter in danger.
"I was teaching the learner driver to do a reverse park," she said.
McKay admitted she swore at a childcare worker who then reported what had happened to police.
"I believe it is one of the worst and silliest decisions I ever made," she said.
Lawyer Amanda Chambers said her client just wanted to put the incident behind her.
She said if McKay had been more polite to the childcare worker what happened may never have been reported to police.
Magistrate Peter Mellas said McKay had made a poor choice.
"It was a bad decision which then involved police and other services. You needed to get that message," he said.
