The licence for the Warrnambool Racing Club was due to expire on June 15 but will now continue through until the release of the final Belfast Coastal Reserve Management Plan.
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) said this plan is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
DELWP Barwon South West Regional Manager of Community and Partnerships Jason Borg said the plan will outline management directions for the reserve for the next 15 years.
“Once the plan is released, a new licence will be issued in the ensuing weeks to reflect the directions in the final plan,” Mr Borg said.
