Bant, 82, who was on the committee of the CTC for 42 years, also had two stints as president of the club from 1987 to 1997 and 2007 to 2009.
He filled the role as the club’s representative on the now defunct South Western District Racing Association for eight years.
Camperdown trainer Geoff Daffy said Bant had been a wonderful servant of the club for decades.
“Graeme loved his involvement in racing and in particular the Camperdown Turf Club,” Daffy said.
Bant’s involvement with the Camperdown club stemmed from his days riding as an amateur jockey.
His greatest achievement in the saddle was booting home the whole card when he rode five winners from five races at the Birregurra picnic meeting in April 1984.
