While conditions might be perfect for the real penguins on Middle Island, the sculptured ones in the city’s main street have been dressed up, along with other artwork in the act of “yarn bombing”.
Yarn bombing is an activity where people cover objects or structures in public places with decorative knitted or crotcheted material, as a form of street art.
The seven penguins in Liebig Street are all sporting cute scarves, while an art piece on the corner of Liebig and Koroit streets also has decorative neck warmers.
The brightly coloured knitwear appeared over the long weekend.
